Scratchboard piece celebrating our yearly calendar printing won a merit award in The Southern Arts Society’s Gateways to the South Show.
The name for the piece comes from the tradition at the Southern Arts Society, Inc. (SASI) where members create and print fine art calendars as a community effort and fund-raiser. This is my second year participating.
This drawing was mostly based on a photo I took of David as he pulled prints of my calendar page for 2016. Fellow SASI member Margo took the photo of my profile – in addition to helping me print my pages. Our calendar project is truly a community endeavor.
